Compared with last week: • Total emissions fell by 1.3% or 27,000 tonnes due to a decrease in emissions from gas. • Emissions from coal-fired generation, which accounted for 98% of electricity generation, grew by 0.5% or 6,000 tonnes. • Emissions from gas fell by 8.9% or 33,000 tonnes, with less gas used for heating this week. • Emissions from petroleum fell by 0.2% or 1,000 tonnes. • Electricity demand fell by 0.7% with the milder weather. • Victoria exported 0.9% of its electricity generation this week. Compared with last year: • This week’s indicator is 8.1% higher than the same week in 2009 • Total emissions to this stage of 2010 were 0.7% lower than the similar stage last year
